Cut Chemist Hitting the Road In March and April In Support Of New Release ‘Die Cut’

March 2, 2018

Both metaphorically and creatively speaking, Die Cut embodies a reawakening for Cut Chemist (Jurassic 5/Ozomatli). The record served as an emotionally-restorative outlet for legendary DJ as he processed the death of his father. The album also thrust him from the shadows of isolation and self-entrapment he encountered following a 30-day stint in jail after a DUI and a string of untimely loses. Desperately in need of companionship, Cut Chemist used Die Cut as a tool to surround himself with a network of live musicians, including Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta), Biz Markie, actress Erika Christensen (Parenthood), tune-yards, Farmer Dave Scher, Dexter Story, simultaneously creating a community to surround him and reinventing his signature sample-based sound by creating an authentic-to-tape element that flawlessly balances both a new era for Cut Chemist and serves as a natural progression from the 2006 critically lauded solo album The Audience’s Listening.

Die Cut, out everywhere on March 2, 2018, can be streamed in full if you PRESS HERE. Downloads of the album are available upon request.
