Multi award-winning DJ/Producer Friction is one of the most revered and respected electronic music artists in the world today. Having cut his teeth in the UK’s underground drum & bass scene as one of its most beloved and respected DJs, Friction has since transitioned into a full timer record producer and in the process has become one of the most beloved artists in UK dance music.

Deemed by Pete Tong as ‘one of the big dogs’, Friction is also the founder of iconic record labels Shogun Audio (which celebrated its 20^th Anniversary in 2024) & Elevate Records. The imprints have become a powerhouse in the world of bass music, responsible for nurturing and kick-starting the careers of many of the scene’s biggest producers.

In the last few years Friction has gone from strength to strength, with a CV that includes two celebrated studio albums in 2018’s ‘Connections’ and 2022’s ‘After Dark’, six years hosting the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass Show, official remixes for the likes of Childish Gambino, The Prodigy, Sam Smith, Fatboy Slim, and D.O.D plus recent collaborations with K Motionz, Kanine, Pola & Bryson, A Little Sound, Emily Makis & Poppy Baskcomb to name a few.

This is all while holding down a nonstop global touring schedule with headline tours across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia & New Zealand, Japan and South Africa over the last few years and stand out performances at some of the world’s premier festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Rhythm & Vines, Boomtown, Creamfields and many, many more!

After a landmark 2024 which included the release of hit single ‘Bang Bang’ with Stylo G, Riko Dan & Frisco on Sony Music/Columbia which was his twelfth Hottest Record on BBC Radio One; Friction is back in a big way for 2025.  With his biggest North America tour to date, huge collaborations and standing on the precipice of his long awaited third album, expect a lot more from Friction very soon!
