One ocean and nearly 12,000 miles cover the distance between Nashville, TN and Dixie Station in Northern Queensland, Australia. However, classic country brings these seemingly disparate places together. Growing up on a million-acre cattle station worlds away from Music City, Homegrown Trio play the kind of country that grooves as it tells a story you might find familiar in the best way. With the nearest town seven hours away, their parents opened a window to a bigger world through a huge music collection. As a result, the kids fell in love with the likes of Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, and Kasey Chambers in between riding horses and enjoying the calm of a massive cattle ranch. Eventually, the family relocated to Charters Towers where Katelyn, Kasey, and Liam began music and dance lessons in earnest. Liam grabbed a bass, Katelyn took to acoustic guitar, and Kasey started mandolin before “sticking to harmonies.”They participated in competitions and festivals around Australia and built up a local fan base in the process. Grinding it out in pubs and anywhere with a stage, they made it on to The Voice Australia in 2018. Inspiring all four chairs to turnaround, they connected with Jonas. Jonas was so drawn to their talent and promise, he signed them to his record label, Let’s Get It Records. Now based in Nashville, the trio of siblings—Katelyn, Kasey, and Liam Donoghue—carry country tradition on the back of their sweet familial harmonies, eloquent songcraft, and intricate instrumentation, serving up a series of singles and their forthcoming debut EP for Let’s Get It Records and Republic Records in 2022. The band is currently opening for the Jonas Brothers on their fall The Remember This Tourwith Kelsea Ballerini.
