With the success of his debut eponymous EP which, debuted #18 on the Billboard Heatseeker album chart and featured the Top 40 hit, “All About Us,” Jordan Fisher is ready for more. His new single, “Mess,” co-written by Jordan, Dewain Whitmore, Patrick “J-Que” Smight and Mike Sabath, is set to release on October 6th and showcases the smooth R&B sound that Jordan has made his own.
After performances on The Today Show, The ESPY’s and opening for Alicia Keyes at last year’s Apple Music Festival, Jordan returned to the studio to finish his album when he got the call to join the cast of the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash, Hamilton. Jordan, who has been called out by Lin-Manuel Miranda as “super-talented,” saw a lifelong dream of performing on Broadway come true when he took on the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. Miranda then enlisted Jordan to sing the end title-track, “You’re Welcome” from the Disney animated hit film, Moana, on which Miranda himself is featured.
Jordan’s breakout moment was his performance in FOX’s Emmy-winning broadcast of “GREASE: LIVE” which earned him critical acclaim as the press named him the show’s breakout star. In early 2017, ABC tagged Jordan for their epic miniseries event, When We Rise, where his rendition of the 70’s classic, “I’d Love to Change the World,” opened the two-hour premiere directed by Gus Van Sant.
The underlying thread to Jordan’s success across the board is music. He’s not just a multi-talented performer but also a storyteller. His influences are diverse and can be traced back to his days growing up in a football town outside of Birmingham, Alabama, where he cultivated his tastes listening to everything from Luther Vandross to Metallica while simultaneous developing his acting skills at the Birmingham-based Red Mountain Theatre Company.
Jordan currently is a leading contender on the 25th Season of the ABC TV smash, Dancing With The Stars with partner, Lindsay Arnold.
