Bio
Popular HLN anchor, New York Times Best Selling Author, and emerging country artist Robin Meade is the longtime host of “Morning Express with Robin Meade” and a singer-songwriter releasing her sophomore album.
Waking up at 3am is her “normal” routine so she can be in the anchor chair at 6am. Among her notable assignments: jumping out of a perfectly good plane with President George HW Bush for his 85th birthday (2009), and covering on location the 2nd inauguration of President Obama (2013). Robin is the face of the networks “Salute to Troops” and co-hosts “Accent Health” with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. She hosted “Ask Oprah’s All Stars” at the mogul’s request to kick off the OWN network (2011). She co-hosted (and sang during) the Daytime Emmy Awards with GMA’s Sam Champion & HLN’s AJ Hammer.
Her new album “Count on Me” was released in June, reaching #29 on Billboard’s Heatseaker’s chart. Meade penned 7 of the 12 songs, produced by Victoria Shaw (Lady A). “Count On Me” features appearances by platinum-seller Lee Brice, veteran chart-topper Kenny Loggins (as part of Blue Sky Riders) & blues artist Keb’ Mo’. A huge compliment: HLN brass loved Robin’s song “Here For You” so much, they licensed it for the networks promotional campaign. Meade’s musical recording debut “Brand New Day” (2011) reached #24 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and garnered strong praise. Before her own releases, Meade was featured on Jim Brickman’s “Welcome Home”, a song that also won her a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry.
Robin’s book, “Morning Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too” was a New York Times Bestseller (2009), chronicling her rise over crippling panic attacks.
Before joining CNN Headline News in 2001 Meade anchored at Chicago’s WMAQ, after stops at WSVN in Miami, & WCMH in Columbus, Ohio. Meade’s first job in broadcasting came at WMFD in Mansfield Ohio where she did tv & radio news. She leaped to Cleveland’s WJW the same year she was Miss Ohio.
Robin graduated from Ashland University with a degree in Radio/TV Production, Performance & Programming and a minor in Political Science. She was honored with AU’s Young Alumnus Award (2005), inducted into the Ohio Broadcasters Hall of Fame (2005) & bestowed the prestigious Gracie Award for Outstanding News Anchor (2010).
Meade’s a Nascar fan who’s performed the anthem for the Sprint Cup races in Sonoma (2010), Daytona (2012), Talladega (2013), & Charlotte (2013) for millions of race fans.
She supports a number of non-profits including the TJ Martell Foundation, for which she is co-chairing its Best Cellar’s Dinner with legendary music attorney, Joel Katz (#34 of Billboard’s Power 100).
Robin has shown her quick wit as a guest on shows like “The Steve Harvey Show,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” and Anderson Cooper’s “Anderson Live.”
She and her husband live in Atlanta with their 2 dogs, 1 nephew, and opposite sleep schedules.
