Dave Matthews Band Becomes The First Group In History To Have Seven Consecutive Studio Albums Debut at No. 1

Band Performs On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”

On Thursday, June 21

With Come Tomorrow (RCA Records) topping the Billboard 200, Dave Matthews Band becomes the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1. Come Tomorrow earned 292,017 equivalent album units in the week ending June 14. Of that total, 285,000 were in traditional album sales – marking the biggest sales week for a rock album in more than four years.

Dave Matthews Band will perform on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday, June 21. Their North American summer tour continues with a sold-out show at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA on June 22. Tickets can be purchased now at See below for itinerary.

In a New York Times’ Critic’s Pick review, Jon Pareles observed, “willed optimism fills the songs on ‘Come Tomorrow,’ while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot…each song notes the fears and sorrows it’s determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms.”

Vulture welcomed the album as “a quieting moment in an already overstuffed and overwhelming year.” SPIN praised “the dramatic ‘Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)’, the playful ‘That Girl Is You’, and the slow-burning ‘Again and Again.’” Rolling Stone said, “[Matthews gets] quiet, contemplative, and unusually sweet on songs both lush (‘Here On Out’) and spare (‘Black and Blue Bird’). Other highlights include the towering, horn-heavy ‘Idea of You,’ which might be the band’s most radio-ready song since ‘Crash Into Me.’”

In a review of the lead single, “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin),” People said, “Matthews’ vocals sweep you into a carpe diem fury. Accompanied by Carter Beauford’s thrumming snare and Tim Reynolds’ haunting guitar riffs, the front-man reminds us ‘Let’s not forget these early days / Remember we began the same / We lose our way of fear and pain / Oh joy, begin.’ “Billboard declared it “a plea for unity.”

The band recorded Come Tomorrow at studios in Seattle, Los Angeles and Charlottesville. Brandi Carlile harmonizes with Matthews on the shimmering title track. Come Tomorrow will be made available on vinyl and cassette on June 29th. For more information visit Dave Matthews Band and Warehouse Official Stores.

GRAMMY® Award-winning Dave Matthews Band has sold more than 20 million tickets since its inception and a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined.
