Kojaque has today dropped an irresistible new video for latest track ‘Flu Shot’, a bold new track produced by Brién that shows the unique span of Kojaques pop and hip-hop sensibilities. “I guess flu shot is kind of a paradox, it’s a kind of mood of feeling both invincible and yet self-destructive. It’s me on my bullshit, like nobody is gonna stop me but myself.”  The quickly-rising Irish MC has also confirmed details of further festivals for 2019, including SXSW, The Great Escape, and Live at Leeds. A surprise anniversary show tomorrow celebrating ‘Deli Daydreams’ in Dublin sold out in under 30 seconds. Following Kojaque’s immediately-sold-out London headline show at Corsica Studios, Kojaque has announced many more festivals and headline shows including his next London headline at XOYO on May 8th and Glasgow’s Poetry Club on May 2nd. 2019 has seen Kojaque’s much-celebrated mixtape, ‘Deli Daydreams’, travel far beyond its still-DIY roots. A conceptual tape-based around a week in the life of a Deli worker, the project is rapidly amassing Kevin Smith an increasingly global audience. The record was also recently nominated for the prestigious Choice Music Prize in Ireland: the first time a project of its length and nature has been recognised, following an outcry from critics and fans alike at its initial eligibility. ‘Flu Shot’ is a playful, vivid insight into some of what Kojaque and his Soft Boy label collective have been up to in the chaotic period post ‘Deli Daydreams’. It’s also further proof that, for Kojaque, everything goes hand-in-hand: he is also an established director and visual artist as well as musician, again steering the visuals for ‘Flu Shot’ which first airs today.

Kojaque comments:

“The video, was directed by Sam McGrath and myself, we story boarded the whole thing and brought it to Ellen Kirk who produced it all from pretty much scratch. The crew were all friends so it was beg, borrow steal to stretch the limited budget as far as it would go to make it happen. The video is kind of dream surreal sequence that was heavily influenced by West Side Story and Blue Velvet. We were going for that big finish”

Kojaque is currently working on further new music to follow later this year.
