Acclaimed singer-songwriter Meg Myers has announced today’s premiere of her new song, co-written and performed as a duet with chart-topping indie-pop tunesmith morgxn. “i hope you cry (with morgxn)” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services.

“Humans bottle things up, hold things in, sweep things under the rug,” says Myers. “That’s what most of us have been taught to do and I feel that is what keeps us in suffering. It was beautiful to be able to connect with morgxn in a way that, to be honest, most men are afraid to. To be vulnerable, to be real, to allow yourself to be seen, that is true strength. ‘i hope you cry’ is permission to do that. All together now…”

“Growing up in the South i didn’t have a lot of models of men who cried,” says morgxn. “It wasn’t until I was much older that I realized I had been holding back my tears; afraid to meet the more vulnerable parts of me. It’s been nice to reacquaint myself with my younger self and make up for lost time. Especially now in the heaviness of everything – it’s nice to just let yourself cry. Working with Meg on this felt like meeting an old friend from another life. The writing was so seamless – in one minute we went from talking/sharing to writing a song. There was never a declaration of now we will make something. It just happened. I think the best songs are like water – they just flow. Release.”

PRE-ORDER I’D LIKE 2 GO HOME NOW

Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 The Disco and I’d Like 2 Go Home Now were announced with last month’s premiere of the powerful new single, “Any Way You Wanna Love.” The song was met by acclaim from such outlets as Vanyaland, which hailed the track’s “impassioned fury,” declaring, “the anthemic alt-pop jammer feels like a Song of the Year contender.” In addition, Myers recently performed a live-at-home acoustic version of “Any Way You Wanna Love” for Syracuse, NY’s 95X.

The upcoming EPs represent Myers’ first new releases since the blockbuster success of her chart-topping cover of Kate Bush’s 1985 classic, “Running Up That Hill.” Originally performed in an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, the song made history earlier this year by ascending to #1 on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” airplay chart 42 weeks after its official March 2019 release – the longest trip to the top in the chart’s three-decade history. What’s more, “Running Up That Hill” also reached #1 on Billboard’s “Rock Airplay” chart in its 29th week, tying for the third-longest climb to the peak position in that tally’s own 10-year history.

“Running Up That Hill” is joined by an equally remarkable animated video, created in partnership with the L.A.-based non-profit, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), and streaming now at Myers’ official YouTube channel. In addition, Myers visited ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year for a spectacular performance of the song.

Myers recently launched an official Patreon page showcasing her music, writing, and visual art. Patreons receive access to a range of exclusives, including monthly livestreams, downloads, behind-the-scenes content, personalized messages, merch discounts, special gifts, and more.
