NY Times, NPR World Café celebrate David Wax Museum’s “most adventurous album to date”
September 14, 2016
David Wax Museum celebrates the release of their most “adventurous album to date” (Paste) this week with a NYT album stream and an upcoming performance on NPR’s World Café with David Dye. ‘Guesthouse’ is out on Friday via Thirty Tigers and the band kicks off their biggest tour to date with over 40 shows through the end of the year on Thursday night.

Mixing thrumming synthesizers with a self-styled, MexoAmericana sound, ‘Guesthouse’ juxtaposes obscuring electronics and some of the band’s most personal writing to date.

Early praise for ‘Guesthouse’:
“Gregarious, wonderfully charming.” – NPR
“Softly strummed revivalist guitar parts and dancing piano lines… full-bodied arrangements, distortion and woozy grooves out of the Unknown Mortal Orchestra playbook.” – New York Times
“Dreamy and delightful.” – The Atlantic
“The band’s most adventurous album to date.” – Paste
“On ‘Guesthouse’ the David Wax Museum take their Mexican-inspired folk in completely new directions.”
– Consequence of Sound
