March 31, 2021
UP, UP, AND AWAY!
SWITCHFOOT PERFORMS ONE OF A KIND LIVESTREAM
FROM HOT-AIR BALLOON
WATCH THEIR PERFORMANCE OF “FLOAT” HERE
Over the weekend, GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band SWITCHFOOT shared the latest episode of their Fantastic Not Traveling Music Show monthly livestream series, except this time with a never-been-done-before twist. The band performed at 3,500 feet from a hot-air balloon over their hometown of San Diego, CA. Watch SWITCHFOOT perform “Float” off their acclaimed 2016 album Where The Light Shines Through from the skies HERE.
SWITCHFOOT front man Jon Foreman on this unique livestream experience: “In a season filled with low moments, we were looking to lift everyone’s spirits. Singing songs from a hot air balloon, rather than in a concert hall? Only in 2021!”
SWITCHFOOT’s Fantastic Not Traveling Music Show kicked off this past summer as the band’s way to stay connected to their fans after COVID-19 halted live shows around the globe. Since launching, the monthly series has become a welcomed creative outlet for the band who have continuously found new and creative ways to perform their music live for fans in these unprecedented times. Monthly passes and single stream tickets are on sale now and for more information on future livestreams please visit https://switchfoot.com/collections/live-stream-tickets.
Last year, SWITCHFOOT released their 6-track, digital-only Covers EP featuring songs from an eclectic group of artists including Vampire Weekend, The Verve, Harry Styles, The Chainsmokers, Jon Bellion and Frank Ocean. American Songwriter called the collection a “well-curated, summer mixtape” in their four-star review. Watch the official music video for their cover of Frank Ocean’s “Swim Good” HERE. The band is currently working on a new album for release later this year.
