Nashville, TN — March 14, 2013 — After an exhilarating album release week in New York and Los Angeles where the band performed a sold-out show at the Bowery Ballroom and delivered a jaw-dropping performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno; respectively, it’s safe to say The Mavericks are back. One of America’s favorite genre-defying bands announced new U.S. tour dates today.

Reviews of the band’s first album in almost a decade, IN TIME, prove that The Mavericks sound better than ever. The Los Angeles Times gave the album four out of four stars, citing, “Singer-songwriter Raul Malo and his Nashville-based compatriots draw freely, and joyously, from regional cultures spanning North and South America on a collection that will be hard to top as the year’s most scintillating pop music outing.”

Last week’s performance at the Bowery Ballroom also had critics abuzz, with NY’s Village Voice stating that, “In a word or three, the Mavericks are cool as sh*t.” While The Huffington Post raved,“…here they were on stage, with Malo twirling his finger in the air, urging his fellow musicians to keep it going, keep it going and really, you have to wonder why they’d ever stop.”

Next Thursday (3/14), The Mavericks will close out the Americana Music Association’s SXSW show at Antones. The show will simultaneously kickoff The Mavericks first tour in eight years, supporting the release of IN TIME, their first album The Valory Music Co. Fans from coast to coast will soon have the chance to see the GRAMMY Award-winning band LIVE at a venue near them.

With a Cuban-American lead singer, garage band ferocity, an intense live show and a deep love of both romance and pure country to go with the polyrhythmic beats The Mavericks were raised on, they were unlikely superstars.
