Bio
Simon Aldred is one of the UK’s great classic songwriters, picking up honours at the Ivor Novello’s and Grammy’s. Simon has written hits records with a variety of artists, from Sam Smith to Avicci, with well over 4 Billion streams under his belt. Simon’s work with Sam Smith won him multiple Grammy awards.
His first major success was as an artist under the moniker ‘Cherry Ghost’, winning the Ivor Novello award for Best Song with ‘People Help The People’. This was later covered by Birdy and became a huge international hit.
Simon then began writing with other artists, resulting in singles for Sam Smith ‘Leave Your Lover’, Avicci ‘Waiting For Love’ (over a billion streams), Rag ’n’ Bone Man ‘Grace’ and Liam Gallagher ‘For What It’s Worth’ and recent single ’Too Good For Giving Up’.
Simon has also co-written songs with/for P!nk, Celeste, Ray BLK, James Bay, and Knife Party.
