TIM MCGRAW RISES TO THE TOP OF THE CHART FOR A CAREER 35TH TIME WITH FAN FAVORITE “SOUTHERN GIRL”

November 5, 2013

Nashville, TN – November 4, 2013- Country superstar Tim McGraw is at No. one on Mediabase this week with his 35th career smash hit “Southern Girl.”  This also marks the third consecutive No. one from his 2013 Big Machine Records debut TWO LANES OF FREEDOM.

“I think on every record there’s a song that the fans take and make their own, and we saw that happen with ‘Southern Girl’ on the road this summer,” said McGraw.  “It’s been an incredible year and having so much success and three straight No. ones played a big part of that.  I listen to country radio every morning without fail. Even after 35 of these, hearing your local DJ introduce and then play one of your songs will never get old.”

McGraw will perform at the 47th Annual CMA Awards on Wed., Nov. 6 on ABC where he is nominated for three awards for the PLATINUM certified No. one “Highway Don’t Care,” an all-star collaboration with Taylor Swift, featuring Keith Urban on guitar.  Over his career, McGraw has sold over 40 million albums, won three GRAMMY’s, 15 ACM Awards, 12 CMA Awards and 10 AMA’s, while simultaneously maintaining a parallel career as a successful actor in such films as the Oscar nominated The Blind Side, Country Strong, Friday Night Lights and the upcoming Disney production, Tomorrowland starring George Clooney and directed by Brad Bird, scheduled for release in theaters late 2014.
