Pia Toscano, the gorgeous pop songstress who won over America’s hearts as a standout contestant on Season 10 of American Idol, has parted ways with 19 Recordings and Interscope records and has inked a deal with the hit-making producing team The Underdogs. They are currently collaborating on new material for her forthcoming debut album.

Toscano is looking forward to wrapping up production on her upcoming album and to getting the music to her fans:

“I was so fortunate to have American Idol as a launch pad to pursue my dreams and begin to develop this career I’ve always had my heart set on,” said Toscano. “The support I’ve had from 19 Recordings as well as Jimmy Iovine has been invaluable but I really look forward to getting my music out to my fans. I have been working on this music for a long time and am excited about what’s to come.”

Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas, AKA The Underdogs, are multi-GRAMMY winning producers who have worked with such legends as Aretha Franklin, Elton John and Whitney Houston as well as contemporary hit makers like Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake and many more. As the collaboration between Toscano and The Underdogs moves forward, the two hope to create great music that is built on real songs that showcase Pia’s amazing vocal range and personality.

“It’s rare that you find an artist that has the complete package and the powerhouse vocal ability to match,” says Thomas. We will be looking to create what we hope are worldwide hit records that will establish Pia as a long-lasting, landmark artist.
