JB Strauss
Bio
From the deep southern city of Macon, Georgia; a place driven by soul and rich musical tradition, comes Nashville-based singer and songwriter JB Strauss. From his early days he was steeped in sounds of old, shaped by the legacies of local heroes such as the Allman Brothers Band and Otis Redding
When he wasn’t in Macon, he spent his summers navigating the muddy channels of Georgia’s golden isles, where his taste was expanded by the sounds of bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, which seemed to come straight from the marsh by which he was surrounded. Couple that with the music of singer/songwriters such as Gram Parsons and John Prine echoing through his family’s naturally-lit kitchen, and Strauss’s musical vision became fully formed.
For the past 6 years, he has toured the Southeast and beyond, releasing the “Man Possessed” EP in 2019, the “Shut in Sessions” live record in 2021 during the pandemic, a single, “Delta Revival (Golden Rose)” in 2023, and his debut album, ‘Saints of the South’ in 2024
