Bailey Bryan Releases Her Debut Single

October 5, 2016

Washington native Bailey Bryan grew up playing and singing on the streets in front of her favorite taco stand in her small town of Sequim. A storyteller at heart, Bryan’s music simultaneously captures her generation and is wisely crafted beyond her years. Music City is already on board, with early support from Bobby Bones and Sounds Like Nashville predicting that “Bryan is on her way to become the next big thing in country music.”

“I always jumped at the chance to sing and play my guitar in front of people, but when I started writing songs when I was 12, music became an even bigger part of my life,” Bryan reflects. “Being able to share my heart and experiences with other people through my music became my purpose and my passion.”

At the age of seven, she met future publisher and mentor, Becki Devries of Kompass Music Publishing in Nashville. Devries recalls, “I knew Bailey had talent even then, but when I came back to the island to visit family in the summer of 2013, I held a songwriting seminar that Bailey attended. It was then that I realized she had the whole package. Without any training at all, she was already an impressive songwriter at a really young age.” Bryan signed an exclusive music publishing agreement with Kompass later that year, and began making monthly trips to Nashville to hone her songwriting craft.

Shortly after Bryan relocated to Nashville, she inked a first-ever joint recording deal with Warner Music Nashville and 300 Entertainment out of New York as 300’s first ever country release. “Own It” was one of the first songs she co-wrote when she began her monthly trips to Nashville from Washington. A dance-worthy, autobiographical anthem that encourages others to live blatantly and embrace their flaws, “Own It” is available everywhere today.

“’Own It’ is so special to me because it’s not only one of the most autobiographical songs I’ve written, but it pretty much embodies the way that I hope to inspire other people with my music,” says Bryan. “My dream is to see people listening to songs like this one and feeling more understood, and more confident about themselves…not to mention having FUN. I’m so excited that I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to do that with my music.”
