STREAM THE GREATEST PART – VIA CAPTURED TRACKS
Back in June, Becca Mancari released her critically acclaimed album The Greatest Part via Captured Tracks, her first project with the label. Today Mancari unveils a new remix of album single “Lonely Boy” from UK pop artist, Shura. Inspired by Becca’s dog, “Lonely Boy” reflects on the ways that fear can hold us back from human connection. Shura’s playful take infuses the track with otherworldly tones and an easy breezy groove.

Shura on “Lonely Boy” remix - “I fell in love with Becca’s music when I discovered ‘Hunter’ earlier this year. Then her beautiful record came out and it was one of the few albums I found myself putting on repeat. When the opportunity arose to remix “Lonely Boy” from the record I was THRILLED. It’s always a privilege to get to collaborate with musicians who you get along with so well and whose work you admire, especially so in a world where you can’t get together in the same room. I almost didn’t want to change a thing because it’s so awesome as is, but it was so fun to take it to a different planet and go on an adventure.”

Becca Mancari on “Lonely Boy” remix – “I have been a fan of Shura’s music from afar, so when she approached me about remixing one of my songs I was so excited. I love how she took the song that Zac Farro and I did, and reimagined it with such texture and innovation. Also that melody at the end of the song is just too good. She was an absolute dream to collaborate with.”

The Greatest Part is a deeply personal album that navigates the tender crevices of Nashville-based Mancari’s origins, greeting past traumas head-on with vivid, unflinching melodies and Mancari’s crystalline voice. The album has already earned high praise from Rolling Stone, NPR and GRAMMY.com, who call Mancari one of Nashville’s “most audacious pop stars” alongside Hayley Williams and Brittany Howard. Mancari also participated in NPR’s Tiny Desk series. Watch the full performance here.

SELECT PRAISE FOR THE GREATEST PART
“Stereolab gone Nashville.” - New York Times
“Really incredible…I was just so deeply moved by the whole thing” – NPR Music
“Artist of the Month…Fantastic…Akin to Cate Le Bon or Aldous Harding” - Consequence of Sound
“Shimmering…pointillist…skittering…and serrated-edge.” – Rolling Stone
“Even as she delves into devastating and dark subject matter throughout, Mancari often twists them into songs filled with hopefulness.” – Them.
“Along with Hayley Williams’ recent debut solo album Petals For Armor [and Brittany Howard’s Jaime] , it completes a trifecta of emotionally vulnerable albums by three of Nashville’s most audacious pop stars.” – GRAMMY.com
“Raw and intrepid” - Paste
“Mancari delivers a collection of deeply personal songs that carry a lyrical weight, but float above tight, groovy production.” – Uproxx

Produced by Paramore drummer Zac Farro, The Greatest Part marks a significant sonic evolution for the Nashville-based songwriter since her debut and a foray into her more vulnerable work to date. The lyrics are raw and intrepid here, peeling back old scars to explore the emotional and psychological turmoil Mancari weathered growing up gay in a fundamentalist Christian home, while at the same time examining the ties that continue to bind her to the family she loves. Mancari’s musicianship has been praised by NPR for its “exquisite self-awareness” and her debut LP was hailed as one of the year’s best by Rolling Stone, who applauded her “confident vocals [and] spacious, hazy production.”
