Bobby Bones, “The Biggest Thing In Country Radio,” Wraps A Diverse Year Of Milestones

December 13, 2016

Nashville, TN – Dec. 13, 2016 – Bobby Bones, the host of iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show, is wrapping a stacked year of milestones. He played his last show of the year with his wildly successful comedy group, Bobby Bones and The Raging Idiots, in Las Vegas last weekend. “Known for their witty lyrics and hilarious songs about typical life scenarios” (Sounds Like Nashville,) Bobby Bones And The Raging Idiots have had a landmark year, kicking off with the release of their first full-length album THE CRITICS GIVE IT 5 STARS in March. “Packed with collaborations with A-list country stars” (Billboard), the collection debuted at No. One on the Comedy Albums Chart and landed in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Country Album Chart. This was followed by a string of sold-out shows, the honor of debuting at the Grand Ole Opry and the release of the THE RAGING KIDIOTS: KIDDY UP! which debuted as the top downloaded children’s album. The album was born from the success of the Black River artist’s No.One EP, THE RAGING IDIOTS PRESENTS – THE RAGING KIDIOTS. Another highlight of the year for the group was their show with “The Wonderful Women Of Country” during CMA Fest, that saw them joined by Danielle Bradbery, Lindsay Ell, Jana Kramer, Maddie & Tae, Cassadee Pope, Hillary Scott, Lucie Silvas, and Natalie Stovall, during their high energy set.

Heralded by Rolling Stone as “if not a king of all media, then at least a prince,” Bones’ profile catapulted this year with a string of national TV appearances including TODAY, The Talk, Fox & Friends and Kennedy, in support of his fearless memoir. Bobby Bones has built his career on the ability to multi-task, turning humor, honesty, and hard work into a self-made business empire, showcased by the staggering: BARE BONES: I’M NOT LONELY IF YOU’RE READING THIS BOOK. The overwhelming release, that “adds another layer to his complicated persona” (The Washington Post), saw the book spend four weeks on New York Times Bestsellers List, and also saw the memoir claim the No. One spot on multiple lists including USA Today and Wall Street Journal.

With an affinity for helping others, Bones is involved in multiple charitable initiatives and this year was elected to the Board of Directors for Musicians On Call. He also took part in a special day that saw him visit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in Memphis, TN with The Raging Idiots, spending quality time participating in activities and performing for the excited patients. Bones was also presented with a St. Jude gold record during the visit, to recognize his contribution in helping raise $2.2 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Bones also recently visited MusiCares® at the Nashville Chapter of The Recording Academy® to deliver a check for the funds raised by dedicating all proceeds from the sale of #PIMPINJOY apparel in the month of September, as spearheaded by The Bobby Bones Show, to the MusiCares Foundation®, which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. Most recently, the show raised over $1.3 million in one day as part of their St. Jude Radiothon. The event spearheaded by Bones, aired live and allowed listeners to donate via text for the first time, prompting an unprecedented amount of money raised. Country superstars and friends showcased the community spirit of the genre, with many offering their time to be a part of the broadcast.

Dubbed by New York Times as “the biggest thing in country radio,” reaching millions of listeners on nearly 100 stations as the host of iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show, Bones has proven to be one of the genre’s most influential tastemakers, and was honored for a second time by the Academy of Country Music for “National On-Air Personality of the Year.” Bones also co-hosted the star-studded, third-annual iHeartCountry Festival that aired on AT&T AUDIENCE Network in May. As the Tennessean notes “”it certainly doesn’t suck to be him.”

With no signs of slowing down, Bones recently announced that he will take his FUNNY & ALONE STAND UP COMEDY TOUR nationwide in 2017, revealing a schedule of dates kicking off in Virginia Beach, VA on 1/13. Astonishing demand saw tickets to multiple dates sell out in minutes, prompting Bones to add more shows in Bakersfield, CA, Grand Forks, ND and Wichita, KS to meet the overwhelming response. A passion project, the tour follows a handful of dates earlier this year that allowed Bones to express his quick-witted, pop-culture stacked brand of comedy. With an innate ability for being at the forefront of breaking new artists, and recently honored by ASCAP with the “Partners In Music” Award, Bones is taking special guest Walker Hayes and newcomer Nikita Karmen out on the dates.
