Bobby Bones Kicks Off Highly Anticipated Funny & Alone Stand Up Comedy Tour With Sold-Out Show
January 16, 2017
Nashville, TN – Jan. 16, 2017 – Recently dubbed by Forbes as “the most powerful man in country music,” Bobby Bones, host of iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show, kicked off his much-awaited FUNNY & ALONE STAND UP COMEDY TOUR this weekend with a sold-out show in Virginia Beach, VA (1/13) continuing on the following night in Roanoke, VA. Heralded by Rolling Stone as “if not a king of all media, then at least a prince,” anticipation built for the tour at on-sale when tickets to multiple dates sold out in minutes, prompting Bones to add more shows to meet the overwhelming response. A passion project, the tour follows a handful of dates undertaken last year that allowed Bones to express his quick-witted, pop-culture stacked brand of comedy that was declared by Sounds Like Nashville as “one we’d see time and time again.” Bones, who was recently honored by ASCAP with the “Partners In Music” Award for showing a dedication in presenting music to the public and heralded by PEOPLE for “using his platform…to promote undiscovered country music artists,” is joined by special guest Walker Hayes and newcomer Nikita Karmen out on the dates.
Bobby Bones, proclaimed by New York Times as the “biggest thing in country radio” is kicking off 2017 at full throttle. Last Monday (1/9) the second annual “The BIG 98 Presents: Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ Million Dollar Show For St. Jude” took place at The Ryman to celebrate the staggering fundraising efforts of Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to date, which has resulted in $5.9 million being raised for the cause. With no signs of slowing down, Bones will continue his nationwide FUNNY & ALONE STAND UP COMEDY TOUR in Tuscaloosa, AL on 1/20. The host of iHeartMedia’s The Bobby Bones Show, reaching millions of listeners on nearly 100 stations, his stand up comedy show combines his love for country music and comedy in his distinct humorous patter, while regaling stories from growing up in rural Arkansas, to hosting the biggest show in country radio. Bobby Bones’ BARES BONES: I’M NOT LONELY IF YOU’RE READING THIS BOOK (Dey Street Books) spent four weeks on New York Times Bestsellers List earlier this year, following an overwhelming debut that saw the memoir claim the No. One spot on multiple lists including USA Today and Wall Street Journal.
