Chess Club Records Announces New Independent Chapter, Affiliation With Red Light Management, Alongside ATO Records.
March 15, 2019
Chess Club Records has today announced a new chapter. The innovative and renowned taste-maker record label was founded back in 2007 by Red Light UK Manager, Peter McGaughrin and his longstanding label business partner Will Street. Over its ten plus years Chess Club has enjoyed a number of great discoveries and successes; pressing the first releases by the likes of Wolf Alice, Jungle, Sundara Karma, Mumford & Sons and MØ. Chess Club has that rare stamp of quality and a trusted reputation for consistently unearthing the best emerging artists.
The new era of the label sees Chess Club structured entirely independently for the first time after a period with RCA/Sony, and an exciting new affiliation with Red Light Management to have Chess Club sit alongside ATO Records. Chess Club has secured new worldwide distribution through AWAL, Kobalt’s masters’ business for this new chapter, and has announced a series of new releases from Bloxx, Alfie Templeman, Yaeger, Phoebe Green and Casi & The Blind Harpist.
Please see the trade coverage for this today from Billboard, Music Week and Music Business Worldwide.
