Enrique Iglesias to be recognized as Billboard’s Top Latin Artist Of All Time

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS TO BE RECOGNIZED AS BILLBOARD’S TOP LATIN ARTIST OF ALL TIME DURING THE BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS ON TELEMUNDO

The Spanish superstar will receive the accolade during the October 21 live gala on Telemundo, for his countless achievements, popularity and contributions throughout his career to the Billboard Latin music charts

Telemundo and Billboard announced today that Spanish star, singer/songwriterEnrique Iglesias will be honored as Billboard’s Top Latin Artist of All Time, recognizing his prodigious output and unprecedented success on Billboard’s Latin music charts. Iglesias is scheduled to receive this recognition during theBillboard Latin Music Awards, the longest running and most prestigious awards show in Latin music, which will broadcast live on Telemundo on Wednesday, October 21 starting at 7pm/6c with the red carpet pre-show and followed at 8pm/7c by the three-hour awards show from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
Enrique Iglesias astounding chart achievements include:
·       A total of 27 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, holding the record for the most No. 1s in history, and the most top 10s on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, with 39.
·       The Spanish star also leads as the artist with the most No. 1 titles on Latin Airplay, with 31, and the most top 10 songs on Latin Airplay, with 40.
·       He also holds the record for the most No. 1 titles on Latin Pop Airplay, with 24, and for the most top 10 hits on Latin Pop Airplay, with 43. This domination has led him to be praised as the King of Latin Pop.
·       In the Billboard Dance Club chart, Enrique Iglesias also holds the record for the most No. 1 among Latin male acts, with 14, and the record for the most top 10s for a Latin act, with 25.
·       He has held 25 entries in the Hot 100 chart, with two No. 1s and five Top 10s; 14 entries in the Billboard 200 chart with three Top 10s; and one No. 1 on the Pop Songs Airplay chart, with seven Top 10s.
·       Enrique Iglesias has also won the most awards in the history of the Billboard Latin Music Awards, with 47.
Celebrating a career that spans 25 years, Enrique Iglesias maintains a list of unstoppable hits, condensed into more than 180 million albums sold, over 16 billion views of his music videos and 18 billion streams of his songs, of which a large part corresponds to the U.S. market, in addition to a numerous list of accolades achieved throughout his career both as a singer and as a songwriter.
His first songs “Si Tú Te Vas,” “No Llores Por Mí,” “Trapecista,” “Experiencia Religiosa” and “Vivir,” mix in his career with the contemporary renditions of “El perdedor,” “Bailando” and “Súbeme la Radio,” which portray the evolution of an artist, who has not hesitated to collaborate with the best of his time such as Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Marco Antonio Solís, Usher, Juan Luis Guerra, Pitbull, Nicky Jam, Wisin & Yandel, Anuel AA and Lil Wayne, placing him on the forefront as one of the greatest of all time.
In addition to his music, he has passionately lent his support towards disaster relief efforts with Save The Children. Enrique and his fans from all over the world have rallied to support his favorite cause through online contributions, fundraiser, auctions, merchandise and meet and greets that have contributed to over $400,000 and counting.

The Billboard Top Latin Artists of All-Time ranking is based on actual performance on the weekly Hot Latin Songs (from its inception on October 4, 1986)  and Top Latin Albums charts (from its inception on July 10, 1993) to the Billboard charts dated October 10, 2020. Artists are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at the lower end of the chart earning the least.
