NEW EP, WELCOME TO JUPITER 1.0, OUT APRIL 30

Today, rising singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Grace Gaustad has released her new single, “Freedom.” Co-written by Grace and Scott Effman, the track builds over an airy guitar riff as her ethereal vocals soar while she pleads, “I just want to be happy like when we were kids, guess that’s what freedom is.” Listen to it here!

Of the song, Grace said, “’Freedom’ is a song about the misconception that true freedom is adulthood when in reality true freedom lives within childhood and usually we don’t realize that until we’re too old to appreciate it.”

Alongside today’s single release, Grace also shared the official music video, directed by Benny Gagliardi, for “Freedom” today. Watch it here! Riff Magazine premiered the video and declared, “Gaustad’s emotions are brought to life in the video” and further heralded the song as, “a melody driven by clean guitar picking and electronic percussion provides a soft, nostalgia-laced bed on which she rests her emotive, sandy vocals.” Read the story here.

“Freedom” is from Grace’s forthcoming sophomore EP, Welcome To Jupiter 1.0, out next month on April 30. The new EP will also include “Out Of Time,” her first single of 2021, and “No You To Me,” which Billboard named one of “10 Cool New Pop Songs.” Upon the release of “Out Of Time,” NYLON heralded, “the song highlights Gaustad’s unique vocals over a synthy, bass-friendly track, with lyrics that are raw and personal.”  Billboard declared, “there aren’t too many 19-year-olds with the vocal firmness of Grace Gaustad” and she was featured as one of “40 new Artists you need to hear in February” by Alternative Press.

At just 19, Grace has quickly begun establishing herself as a young artist to watch. Prior to her 2019 debut EP, Human, Grace uploaded a riveting and raw piano and vocal cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” that organically caught fire on her Instagram when was just 16 years old. With over 400k followers, the clip has amassed over 25 million views and over 2 million views on YouTube.
