JILLIAN JACQUELINE ANNOUNCES LONG AWAITED DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE

April 11, 2022

The music video for “Better with a Broken Heart,” also released today, was directed by recent 2022 ACM Video of The Year award-winning brother and sister duo Alexa King-Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos of Running Bear Films. The story follows the trials and tribulations of young love with the heroine ultimately choosing to love herself; a theme Jacqueline understood well when creating Honestly. Watch “Better with a Broken Heart” HERE.

“I’m thrilled to have TJ of the Brothers Osborne singing with me on it,” says Jacqueline. “I’ve always loved that resonant voice of his, with this emotional tremor to it. He really nailed it in the studio, and hearing us together on the chorus just gives me chills.”

Beloved by artists, critics and fans alike, Jacqueline garnered nearly 100 million streams with a sequence of initial EPs and singles – including hit tracks “Reasons,” “God Bless This Mess,” which she co-wrote with Lori McKenna, and “If I Were You” featuring Keith Urban. Jacqueline has received critical praise for her compassionate songwriting and exquisitely winsome vocal allure, with Billboard noting her ability to “balance her blatant honesty with unshakable optimism… helping separate her from the pack of country mainstays.” Rolling Stone seconded that, pointing out that she has a way of melding “downright melancholy concepts with enough bursts of joy to make pondering the bad stuff a whole lot less painful,” and NPR describing her as an “unvarnished communicator.”

“Better with a Broken Heart” Lyrics:
A sunset goes good with a blanket on the hood and someone to red wine kiss
A morning was made for pulling down the shades and let’s spend all day just like this
And saying goodbye is always best in the dark
But nothing goes together when it all falls apart like

Neon burned out with a few whiskeys down
And a sad song in a smoky bar
A long drive alone without anywhere to go
And the rain on the roof of this car
Some things just go better with a broken heart

Don’t need to go out with my friends on the town or fall into a strangers bed
That might work for most but for me it don’t come close, I’d rather be alone instead
No my misery don’t need company, just

Neon burned out with a few whiskeys down
And a sad song in a smoky bar
A long drive alone without anywhere to go
And the rain on the roof of this car
Some things just go better with a broken heart

It’s a match made in heaven when it hurts like hell
And nothing goes together like all by myself and

Neon burned out with a few whiskeys down
And a sad song in a smoky bar
A long drive alone without anywhere to go
And the rain on the roof of this car
Some things just go better with a broken heart
Oh, some things just go better with a broken heart
