Nashville, TN – Columbia Nashville singer/songwriter Maren Morris closes out a banner year with FOUR nominations, making her the most nominated Country artist, for the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards including BEST NEW ARTIST in the General Field category as well as THREEin the Country category, BEST COUNTRY ALBUM for Morris’ co-produced major label debut album HERO which Rolling Stone listed as No. 13 of their 50 Best Albums of 2016 and BEST COUNTRY SOLO PERFORMANCE and BEST COUNTRY SONG for “My Church,” the song Morris co-wrote with busbee and that Garden & Gun magazine named as the Song of the Year.

 

“I’ve grown up watching the GRAMMYS, and they are such a pinnacle for an artist. I’m so honored to be nominated by my peers who I am so inspired by every day,” says Morris.

 

The 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air live on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

 

Adding to the excitement of the week, Morris is set to receive the “BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST” Award at the 11th annual Billboard Women in Music gala (Friday, December 9th) and is making her first appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live as the musical guest for the December 10th episode.
