Today the Ivors Academy announced the five nominees for its Rising Star Award with Apple Music, among them our very own MYSIE. According to the Academy – the new award helps discover, support and accelerate the careers of the most promising music creators in the UK and Ireland.

The award includes a mentoring scheme to receive a year-long mentorship from a well-established figure in the industry, Mysie’s had the great fortune of being partnered with the incredible producer Fraser T Smith (Adele, Sam Smith, Drake, Stormzy).

Mysie released her latest single, Gift, last month featured as The Line of Best Fit’s Track of the Day. When The Horn Blows later wrote “Mysie is one of the brightest and most unique voices in British music today.”

The new ‘Rising Star’ Ivor Novello Award honours young British and Irish songwriters and composers who demonstrate exceptional potential and ambition.

The award received more entries than any Ivor Novello Award category to date.
