“COSY KARAOKE, VOL. 1”, OUT TODAY
The Vaccines’ will soon unveil news of a stunning new album project they’ve worked on for the past 18 months with the likes of Daniel Ledinsky (Rihanna), Andrew Maury (Post Malone) and Fryars (Pharrell Williams).
Ahead of that, today the band unveils a self-produced covers EP project, Cosy Karaoke, Vol. 1, is out today, including covers of tracks by Queens of the Stone Age, Wanda Jackson, Waxahatchee and more.
With the band locked down in London, Iceland, Australia and France due to the pandemic, The Vaccines chose to channel their creativity in putting together a series of covers and re-imaginings of some of their favourite tracks, creating Cosy Karaoke, Vol. 1, an intimate sounding EP that doesn’t give away its web-based beginnings.
The release is a fan focused, re-engagement 3 years after Combat Sports, the covers EP has already resulted in 15k new Spotify followers, a 14% increase in monthly YouTube views, and across DSPs an impressive 78% editorial split.
