TIM MCGRAW CAPS OFF STELLAR YEAR WITH TWO GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

December 10, 2013

Nashville, TN – December 9, 2013 – Superstar Tim McGraw charged into 2013 with his Big Machine Records debut TWO LANES OF FREEDOM, which spawned three consecutive No. one hits bringing his career tally to 35 No. one songs.  McGraw nabbed two CMA Awards, was deemed one of CMT’s “Artists of the Year” and fans across the world delighted in his “major new start” (Los Angeles Times) with sold out shows across the US and abroad.  McGraw picked up two GRAMMY nominations on Friday for “Best Country Album” and “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” for the PLATINUM selling all-star collaboration “Highway Don’t Care” with Taylor Swift, featuring Keith Urban on guitar.  2013 is proof that 20 years in, McGraw is just hitting his stride, and critics agree.

“McGraw is approaching two decades since he broke big at mainstream country radio with 1994′s Not a Moment Too Soon. To maintain any career at the top for that long requires major stamina and showmanship. It requires a keen ear for timeless songs and for the kind of craftsmanship that accentuates the positives and compensates for the negatives. McGraw has held his own amidst a slew of male hatted and not-hatted country singers since his ascent. Some have burned bright and then flamed out. But he’s still here.”  Dallas Morning News

“If this is an indication of McGraw’s next phase, then let Freedom ring again and again.”  USA Today

“The man sweats star power and has an effortless, sexy swagger that make it hard to believe he’s a mere mortal, yet he performs with humility, smiling at the response from the crowd as if he’s genuinely surprised they like him.” Tampa Tribune

“electrifying stage presence” Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

On the road, McGraw sold-out venues across the country and overseas with his TWO LANES OF FREEDOM 2013 Tour.  His “characteristically high-octane…” (Billboard) show pulled in capacity crowds topping out at more 21,000 fans a night.  McGraw also continued his HomeFront program in partnership with Chase and Operation Homefront, to award a mortgage-free home to wounded warriors and military members in need at each tour stop.  Over the course of two years the program has awarded more than 70 mortgage-free homes.  In that vein, he held a free concert,  “Chase Presents Live From The HomeFront: Tim McGraw,” in honor of Veteran’s Day for military members and their families at U.S. Naval Station Mayport.

From national magazine covers to anchoring his own TV special with ACM Presents: Tim McGraw’s Superstar Summer Night on CBS, McGraw’s profile was higher than ever with appearances on Austin City Limits, CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, the 48th Annual ACM Awards, 47th Annual CMA Awards, MusiCares Person of the Year Bruce Springsteen and many more.

As McGraw prepares for the New Year, he targets a new album and a major motion picture release with Disney’s Tomorrowland.  For more information and updates, visit www.timmcgraw.com
