Nashville, TN – June 19, 2019 – Singer/songwriter Tucker Beathard offers a new perspective to his latest single “Better Than Me” in a hijinks-filled music video for the track, available today here, as well as made it’s broadcast debut on CMT today. The playful narrative showcases Beathard’s more mischievous, sarcastic personality as he takes on the role of an ex-boyfriend attempting to sabotage his former girl’s new relationship. Directed by Justin Clough, the video draws from Beathard’s 90’s rock influences with a tongue-in-cheek delivery reminiscent of bands the lead guitarist/drummer grew up on like Blink 182, Green Day and Foo Fighters.  

Co-written by Beathard with Dan Isbell and Jonathan Singleton, “Better Than Me” has garnered praise by critics and fans alike, with Music Row declaring the track as “career making music…his best yet” while Rolling Stone notes “the chorus is kinetic, arena-country gold, with a melody that swings for the fences.”

“The fun thing about music videos is that it gives you the chance to offer up a whole other perspective to a song,” said Tucker Beathard. “We definitely went in a sarcastic direction and brought in the style of the videos I loved growing up. It was awesome being able to take on another character in the video. Justin, the director, really understood where I wanted to take it and we were able to let loose and just have some fun.”
