The soundtrack, produced by Mike Elizondo (Encanto) and scored by John Powell, features Brittany Howard, Jemaine Clement, Baraka May, Fred Armisen and Big Freedia with Bret McKenzie penning several of the tracks. The release comes in tandem with Netflix’s animated musical comedy, Thelma the Unicorn, available now.

On the film, Brittany stated, “In January of 2020, director Jared Hess came to my show at the Hollywood Palladium and told me he wanted me to voice act as the lead in the animated film, Thelma The Unicorn. He passed on the book to me and after reading it, I immediately connected with the story and character. Over 4 years later and a whole lot of work and fun, I am so proud and honored to present the film. Believing in yourself can make your world shine brighter!”
