WHITE LIES ANNOUNCE NIGHT LIGHT THE BAND’S SEVENTH STUDIO ALBUM
July 25, 2025
White Lies have announced their seventh studio album ‘Night Light’ and shared new single ‘In The Middle’
The Ealing, London trio – Harry McVeigh, Charles Cave and Jack Lawrence-Brown – will release the record Nov 7th via Play It Again Sam/Virgin Records, you can pre-order/pre-save it here.
The album’s closing track is the focus single, the six-minute ‘In The Middle’ comes as a pulsing, hypnotic track inspired by Gong, Neu! and Roxy Music that centres around expansive synths and driving bass, with an epic instrumental outro.
“The lyrics to the verses for ‘In The Middle’ have been written in notebooks for nearly a decade, waiting for the right vessel, which has finally presented itself in this hypnotic and locomotive piece of music.” Harry McVeigh
“It’s a song about moving, not necessarily moving on, moving to another emotional place needed for growth. It also gives you a taste of our musical growth on this forthcoming album where we fully let our hair and scalps down to embrace a more experimental side of arrangement. And, by the way, it’s a saxophone not a flute.
The new album is their first for almost 4 years, it was recorded at Paul Epworth’s Church Studios, London, produced by Riley MacIntyre (Ezra Collective, The Horrors, Arlo Parks) and mixed by Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House, Blondshell)
