von Grey’s self-titled debut EP, produced by GRAMMY@ Award winner Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Train, The Gaslight Anthem), will be released in October. See below for track listing. “Coming For You,” the collection’s haunting first single, will impact Non-Comm/Americana/Triple A radio on August 13^th.

The indie-alt-folk band’s current headline tour continues with a show at Jammin Java in Vienna, VAtonight and also includes dates at The Bitter End in New York City(7/30), World Café in Philadelphia(7/31) and The Abbey in Chicago(8/3). von Grey will return home to Atlanta for a show at Eddie’s Attic on August 28^th, the first in a series ofGeorgia dates. The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Atlanta Music Scene blog has repeatedly championed the classically-trained Alpharetta, GA sisters, hailing von Grey as “nothing short of stunning” and urging: “See them now, because a few years down the road, you might have to pay big bucks for nosebleed seats in an arena to catch these talented musicians.” The quartet has performed upwards of 200 shows in the past two years, from recurring residency tours at intimate venues throughout the southeasternU.S. to supporting gigs with such artists as Sarah McLachlan.

von Grey – comprising Annika (lead vocals, violin, banjo, guitar, keys), Fiona (lead vocals, guitar, violin, percussion), Petra (keys, lap steel guitar, background vocals) and Kathyrn (cello, bass, mandolin, keys, background vocals) – bring a distinctly modern sensibility to folk/roots music in a manner reminiscent of such contemporaries as The Civil Wars and Mumford & Sons. The forthcoming five-song EP showcases the band’s soulful four-part harmonies, poetic lyrics and indelible melodies with such songs as the opener, “What Am I,” a stirring plea for unity and understanding, the earthy “Take Me Down” with its exquisite string work, and the bittersweet “Shane.” You can check out von Grey in this short clip:
