Bio

Kasbo, born Carl Garsbo, has established himself as a sensation across electronic music with his transformative, emotional sound. He reinforced that notion with his album The Learning of Urgency, continuing to expand on the thoughtful and immersive world he’s built throughout his career.

Ever a creative mind, Kasbo spent several years exploring new musical territory and deepening his relationship with music itself. Time spent at home in Sweden galvanized him to focus on what he knew best, the music. He honed his DJing, shared records with friends, and bonded over nostalgic memories and music that helped guide his creative outlook. During this period, he gravitated toward the minimal subtlety of euphoric club music, became infatuated with hypnotic trip-hop from artists like Moby and Massive Attack, and explored the ambient melodies of Rival Consoles, Max Cooper, and Ólafur Arnalds.

Now equipped with a collection of inspiring musical influences, Kasbo continued to spend time working out of studios close to home. Over the years, he has become a regular at Svenska Grammofonstudion in his hometown of Gothenburg, a historic studio that has hosted the likes of Max Martin and other Swedish icons, as well as Stockholm’s Arresten, a serene and unique former jail transformed into a recording studio on the island of Skeppsholmen.

Kasbo continues to uphold his position as a bright beacon for the genre. Through masterful expertise in sound design, the Swedish producer and songwriter consistently introduces music that connects and stirs on a deeper level with rare grace and delicacy. Awarded Sweden’s P3 Gold Award for Dance Artist of the Year and receiving critical acclaim from outlets including Billboard, The FADER, Complex, and Stereogum, fans have connected with his music through its emotional depth and unique approach. His 2018 debut Places We Don’t Know was nominated as a Top 10 Electronic Album of the Year by Run the Trap and has amassed over 200 million combined streams. In 2020, he followed up with The Making of a Paracosm, which was named one of Dancing Astronaut’s Top Electronic Albums of the Year and went on to earn more than 100 million streams. To date, Kasbo has received nearly 600 million combined streams worldwide.

Following the release of The Learning of Urgency, Kasbo embarked on a largely sold-out North American headline tour. In late 2025, he also performed a sold-out show at Mishawaka Amphitheatre for his first ever three-hour DJ set, marking a new chapter in his live performances. He has previously performed at world-renowned festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Splendour in the Grass, Electric Forest, Firefly Festival, and Hangout Fest. He has toured around the world in support of Glass Animals, ODESZA, and Sultan + Shepard, and alongside RÜFÜS DU SOL and Sofi Tukker.

Now, Kasbo is beginning the next wave of his project. Partnering with This Never Happened, he is releasing new music that reflects a continued sonic evolution while keeping the emotional core and melodic sensibility that have long defined his sound. This new chapter begins with “All This Time,” followed by “World Is Mine,” a collaboration with Lane 8.

In tandem with the Kasbo project, he has also launched a new collaborative venture called Nokta Servo alongside DJ Carpenter, Killen, and Odd Sanne. The project centers around music, community, and club culture, with releases and curated events taking place in Stockholm.
