INTERPOL ANNOUNCES TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS 15th ANNIVERSARY SHOWS IN NYC & LA
May 1, 2017
WORLDWIDE TOUR BEGINS AUGUST 2017
Interpol celebrates the 15th Anniversary of debut album Turn On The Bright Lights by playing the record in its entirety at Forest Hills Stadium, New York on September 23rd and LA’s State Historic Park, September 30th.
The only North American performances of Turn On The Bright Lights, following a previously announced run of European dates. On-sale is Friday, May 5th at 10am PST for the two US dates.
Interpol began when guitarist Daniel Kessler recruited bassist Carlos Dengler and singer/guitarist Paul Banks to form a band. In 2002, with Sam Fogarino on drums, the band signed with Matador Records and released Turn On The Bright Lights, which Pitchfork named the year’s #1 album.
Over the next decade and a half, Interpol would go on to widespread global critical and commercial acclaim, with four subsequent records. Turn On The Bright Lights has sold over a million albums to date, and continues to be a complex, melodic, unforgettable debut release.
The band (Banks, Kessler & Fogarino) is currently working on new material in their native New York, for their sixth studio album due for release through Matador Records, worldwide, in 2018.
