Rufus Wainwright Announces UK Tour, New Single
October 11, 2012
‘Perfect Man’ – the stunning new single by Rufus Wainwright and an undisputed highlight of his acclaimed album ‘Out of the Game’ – impacts November 19th on Polydor.
Flecked with guitar and pulled along by swirling organ, Rufus is joined by sister Martha for a stunning vocal duet which rises and falls with burning intensity.
Rufus says: “I wrote this for Neil Tennant, when we were thinking about doing something together. He thought it had too many chords, but Mark was head over heels for it. He really fought for it, and it turned out to be a great vehicle for my sister Martha. She’s a definite hallmark of all of my albums, and it’s always important to have her in my orbit.”
After wowing at his April Lyceum show, Rufus has spent much of the year touring the US and Australia. With his first band tour since 2008’s ‘Release The Stars’, Rufus heads back to Europe this autumn for a 10-date UK tour, welcoming back special guest Adam Cohen.
