October 21, 2016
Off the heels of their hot track collaboration “Weekend” with Chicago duo Louis The Child – boasting a Coachella live performance, Top 10 iTunes Dance chart look and 4.5 Million streams in the US alone – international award-winning Swedish duo Icona Pop re-emerge with a brand new track, “Brightside;” true to its name, featuring breezy production, carefree vocals, and an irresistible chorus that you’ll be singing in your head until next summer. “Brightside” is out worldwide today on Record Company TEN/Big Beat/Atlantic Records – download here – produced by “Someone Who Can Dance” collaborator Jarrad Rodgers (aka artist MSTR Rogers) and Freddy Kennett (of Louis The Child).
Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt first became household names as Icona Pop since they hit the scene in 2012 with their triple platinum hit single, “I Love It ft. Charli XCX.” Since the release of their debut album “This Is… Icona Pop” in 2013 via Record Company TEN/Big Beat/Atlantic Records, the duo have been featured in the hit HBO series GIRLS, and have performed live on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, NBC’s The Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman, and America’s Got Talent. They currently boast over 10 million singles sold and over 400 million streams worldwide.
The duo has also been a part of sold-out tours worldwide, including stints supporting Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and One Direction. MAKE UP FOR EVER has also joined forces with Icona Pop for an artistic collaboration, on their ‘Artist Rouge’ lipstick line. This Fall, the duo will appear as Troll characters in the new Dreamworks Animation feature (in theaters November 4), which also stars Ana Kendrick, James Corden and Justin Timberlake (Icona Pop also appear in the first listen video for the lead single from the soundtrack, Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling”).
