Angelique Kidjo’s track-by-track reimagining of Talking Heads’ landmark 1980 album ‘Remain in Light’ took the music world by storm this year.   A newly recorded Amazon Original version of album highlight “The Great Curve” was recently released on Amazon Music featuring Alicia Keys on vocals and Questlove on drums, plus guitar from Blood Orange.  Today Angelique has unveiled the music video for the song.  It features Angelique and Alicia Keys in the studio together, plus footage of fans from across the globe participating in a dance contest that Angelique initiated on social media.  Watch “The Great Curve” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppnIM8g12Nk

Kidjo partnered with super producer and 2015 Grammy Producer of the Year Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Rolling Stones, Beyonce) for her version of ‘Remain in Light,’ which brings the Talking Heads album full circle, back to the sounds of West Africa that inspired the original.  This has led to a tremendous 2018: she performed “Once In A Lifetime” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, discussed the album with David Byrne on New Yorker Radio Hour, was profiled by Pitchfork, NPR’s Morning Edition, Rolling Stone and beyond.

Angelique was also just featured in Vice’s art magazine Garage, a piece about working with Kerry James Marshall on the album artwork that he created with her at his studio in Chicago: https://garage.vice.com/en_us/article/43e7bn/angelique-kidjo-kerry-james-marshall

She will continue touring ‘Remain In Light’ internationally for the next several months, full list of dates is below.
